Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the Indigo platform ("Indigo", "we", "us") by schools, nurseries, and their staff and parents ("you", "users"). By creating an account or using Indigo, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Indigo is

Indigo is a coordination tool that allows parents and staff within a single school community to post and accept short-notice childcare/cover requests. Indigo is a scheduling and communication tool. It does not itself provide childcare, and it is not a recruitment or vetting agency.

2. Accounts and approval

Access to Indigo is by invitation and approval only. Every account must be approved by an administrator at the relevant school before it can be used. Schools are responsible for deciding who to approve.

Safeguarding and background checks (DBS, PVG, AccessNI)
Indigo does not carry out DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks, PVG (Scotland) or AccessNI (Northern Ireland) checks, or any other safeguarding vetting of any user, and does not claim or represent that it does so. Responsibility for safer recruitment, vetting, and safeguarding of any staff member or volunteer approved to use Indigo rests entirely with the school. Schools should apply their own existing safer-recruitment and safeguarding policies before approving any account, exactly as they would for any other member of staff.

3. Data protection

Indigo processes personal data submitted by users (such as name, email, and cover-request details) on behalf of the school, which remains the Data Controller. Full details of how data is processed are set out in the Data Processing Agreement signed between Indigo and each school. Users should not include their child's name or other identifying details of a child in any free-text field.

4. Acceptable use

5. No guarantee of cover

Indigo facilitates requests between users but does not guarantee that any request will be accepted, nor does it vet the suitability of any individual arrangement made between users. Users remain responsible for satisfying themselves that any arrangement is appropriate.

6. Payment, renewal and cancellation

Access to Indigo for a school is provided on a paid annual subscription, currently priced at £249 per year, taken via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each year on your billing anniversary unless cancelled beforehand.

You can cancel at any time from your admin panel. If you cancel more than one month before your renewal date, you will not be charged again, and your access will continue until the end of your current paid period. Fees already paid are non-refundable, except where required by law.

We may change our pricing for future subscription periods; we will give you reasonable notice of any change before it applies to your next renewal.

When your access ends, whether through cancellation or non-renewal, your school's data is retained and then deleted in line with the terms set out in our Data Processing Agreement.

7. Liability

Indigo is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Indigo shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for the conduct of any user, arising from the use of the platform.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Indigo after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

10. Contact

Questions about these Terms, or complaints regarding data protection, can be sent via the contact form on this site.
